An 8-BIT throwback is used to spring us to the future of business online.
Faced with creating an innovative campaign for iMeet, Black Swan’s GMUNK draws upon nostalgia to visually mimic the feeling of e-conference overload. By taking a queue off the old 8-Bit MISSILE COMMAND game, email subjects turn into missiles – napalming our audience as they overload the inbox.
Though visually simple, the technical details are what make the spot original and unexpected. Email tags, icons, text and the broken interlaced flare of the Game Over screen are all perfected to suite a true recreation of an old favorite. Additionally, we use purposeful pacing and shot selection to build tension as the emails overload and the world explodes. This makes the calming iMeet logo intro even more effective – further reinforcing the idea that, with iMeet, business becomes worry-free.
