And it's not even Easter yet...
Tonight was one of those nights that I really believe we will look back on as a landmark in our church's story. It was one of those nights that are hard to explain to those who weren't there, but the attempts to do so include the word "incredible" over and over again. It was beautiful, inspiring, God-honoring, joyful, and in many ways, a clear picture of answered prayers.
The best way I can describe it is "all in." Every aspect of the night was intense, passionate, fervent, committed, and faithful -aka- all in. We were all in in our worship as people dared to step into joy - to dance, to clap, to smile, to sing at the top of their lungs. Almost an hour passed and we didn't even notice. We were simply enjoying our God. We were all-in in our prayers as the volume of the room grew and grew as the names of those who don't yet know Christ were lifted up in prayer. We were all-in in what could only truly be called a "holy roar." It certainly was a "joyful noise unto the Lord" as hundreds of people shouted at the top of their lungs, expressing their excitement and passion for Christ. We were all in as we closed the night in worship where we celebrated what God had done, and what we are believing for Him to do at Easter.
I love every Third Wednesday. I love seeing people faithfully show up month after month to worship our Worthy God, and to pray for His church. Tonight was special. It was all that and more. It was a night that we, who were able to experience it, will remember with great joy and gratitude.
And as we finished the last worship song of the night, I looked over at Todd and said, "And it's not even Easter yet!"
I can't wait until Sunday.
