As part of CNBC’s continuing adventures in Primetime, a new program was launched focusing on the big-time personalities that make it big in business. The marquee names featured stand in the spotlight; Ted Turner, Hugh Hefner, & Donald Trump. In many cases – these individuals overshadow the companies they created and become as much of a household name as their businesses. The effort for this piece was to continue to solidify CNBC Primetime long-form programming as a destination television – not just the typical business programming one might expect. For CNBC Titans, we wanted to play off of the name recognition of its subjects – so we decided to follow a kinetic type execution to stand out against the crowd and followed-through with a testosterone-filled, alcohol & red-meat voice-over with copy that hits the viewer right-between-the-eyes, rapid fire sound-up of the interesting people being featured in the series - backed by a music track Dick Dale would be proud of…all setting the tone for a no-nonsense, manly-man-spot that’s right at home with pick-up trucks, hand-tools & motor oil advertising…and exactly what you wouldn’t expect from CNBC.
