This is the first part of our debate live in Brussels. The issue was job insecurity for youths in Europe and the dim future prospects.
Faced with the economic crisis and spending cuts, young people risk joining the IPOD generation (insecure, pressurized, overtaxed & debt-ridden) or Neets (not in employment, education or training). In this part of the debate we focussed on the IPODs.
The session lasted from 15h30 and 16h00. The moderator was Méabh McMahon. The following MEPs attended: Marian Harkin, (ALDE, Ireland), Committee on Employment and Social Affairs; Jutta Steinruck, (S&D, Germany), Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and Gabriele Zimmer, (GUE/NGL, Germany), Committee on Employment and Social Affair. The students at the table were from our following campus radios: Bonncampus, University of Bonn, Germany; Radio Campus, Örebro University, Sweden; Trinity FM, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and Radio Kampus, Warsaw University, Poland
