The University of Virginia Patent Foundation awarded internationally renowned diabetes technology scientist Boris P. Kovatchev, Ph.D., with its top honor: the 2011 Edlich-Henderson Inventor of the Year award.
Awarded annually, the honor recognizes a U.Va. inventor or team of inventors whose research discoveries have proven to be of notable value to society.
In this video, taken April 19, 2011, in the Rotunda, Kovatchev, director of the U.Va. Center for Diabetes Technology, accepts the award from Patent Foundation Board Chairman Erik L. Hewlett, M.D., at the Patent Foundation's annual awards ceremony.
