One of the last nighttime launches of the Space Shuttle. Taken Friday, November 14, 2008 at 7:55 PM of the Space Shuttle Endeavor on mission STS-126. The night was perfectly clear and the Moon rose for added effect about 30 minutes before countdown.
The video doesn't quite do it justice. The humidity made the launch video blurry, but in reality, it is very clear and bright, like a pillar of fire rocketing into the heavens.
The only other thing ruining the video is some dude behind me going "Shhhh." Guess he thought it would be hard to hear a rocket!
Otherwise, one of the coolest things I've seen in my life. I highly recommend everyone try to see one of the last roughly nine Shuttle launches left.
