Cue the Rocky Theme- this is it! The Battle of the Paddle Elite Race- champion paddlers, surfers and swimmers gather at Doheny State Beach to battle 15-20mph winds, a building swell and each other to win the FIRST battle of the paddle. Not only do these racers have to endure the long paddle course, but each lap has a transition leg where they have to make a dash up and down the beach. Chuck Patterson took home the gold on this amazing, historic day.
