There's a spark in the poetry. I like the reverb effect on "fingers", but a poet should never explain his work, just like a magician should not tell how the trick is done. Leave explication to the readers/listeners.

as a rule I would agree, but I liked his explication and I wanted to capture a sense of the conversation we were having on the roof... It's sort of about the day and the wine and the sky and the poetry and the talk of all of these (plus women... or are the shadows and helicopters passing by)
