The true story of my wife's encounter with the cantankerous Mancunian ranter.
This is a full family effort. My son drew the background and made the figures, I did the animating and editing, and my wife did the voiceover.

He even looks cantankerous as a cartoon! A really great family project. Thanks to all of you for making it at my behest. Trouble is, I now want to know what happened when she met Antonio Fargas and Martin Fry!

    That's two possible sequels.

I liked the attention to detail throughout the clip!

I'm actually surprised the old curmudgeon hasn't written a song about this encounter. Is he really that small?

Can't wait for the Martin Fry sequel.

Who do you think he was thinking of when he recorded "There's a Ghost in my House"? I believe that to this day he is haunted by the memory of his brief encounter with the radiant beauty that was my bride-to-be.

Also, the figures are anatomically to scale. Jane is a 7 footer, while Mark stands a mere 4 feet tall in his socks.

Very cool. what a great collaboration!!!

one thing: the voice-over needs to be louder :)

Forgive me SteveR, but I would be a horrible cad if I did not compliment the appearance of your lovely wife. May I offer a long lost American phrase in an attempt to pay my proper respect. "Hubba! Hubba!"

You filthy beast! Keep your lecherous eyes off my missus!

Haha, this is great. I think more stories should be told in this style of animation. I liked that they were both constantly moving because of the train's bumpiness.
  • SteveR 1 year ago
This paper animation style is a lot easier to do than claymation. The figures don't fall over all the time, for a start.

I agree about the train bumpiness - great attention to detail.

Andrea, my misleading addition of you to the cast of this video has now probably garnered all the "Likes" that it's ever going to, so I have removed you from the cast list.

He's the "singer" (I use the term loosely) in legendary UK band The Fall.
