1. Tiny Vipers - Eyes Like Ours
Tiny Vipers a.k.a Jesy Fortino performing Eyes Like Ours at Berns, Stockholm, Sweden at Sunday 2008-11-16.
Tech info about the camera (I put this up partially to inform people about the cameras capabilities). If you're viewing because you like the music nevermind this:
Taped with an Aiptek AHD C100 in 720x480 resolution. The camera also has p720 res but I think it was overkill in this low light situation so I didn't use it.
Audio synced from a Zoom H2 (sorry bout the noise, I'm used to taping louder music where my noises doesn't matter). The sound on this camera is complete crap. It's extremely hissy, has terrible AGC and is mono 22khz.
This is the original video, not reencoded. I did change the file format in syncing (avidemux). The raw file was in MP4 file format and the size was about the same.
I put this here to demonstrate the camera used for live music. Keep in mind that I could put the camera on a table here (sometimes it's just that easy), if you're holding it in your hand you're going to get a into a different problem with shaky video and image stabilization (the camera has digital image stabilization but I'm not sure if it's actually helping).
White balance: I used the "sunny" mode because the "tungsten" mode is just crap. In low light situations it just makes it darker. I don't know if this is the case for all Aiptek AHD C100 or just a defect with my camera.
Night mode is on. EV is set to 0, because it makes no difference what you set it to in low light situations (it makes a huge difference in daylight)

White balancing you could also do in the editor with some 3 way color correction.
Nice song, btw. and pristine audio!
Yeah, the lighting wasn't optimal for filming, but it wasn't nearly as dark as it turned out here. I think the camera is actually quite poor in low light, even compared to modern cell phone cameras. A person sitting at the same table as me shot this the same night (of the headlining artist "Damien Jurado") youtube.com/watch?v=wNO7f9VCXAg
I took a screenshot of a frame and tried to improve it in photoshop, just to see if it was possible (since I don't have any video editing program), and it wasn't in this case.
Yeah.. Great performance by Jesy. Pretty far from Nadja wouldn't you say? ;)
