Jim Lehrer (PBS News Hour) was in Minneapolis in April of 2010 on a book tour. I was asked by my friend Rich Cornell if I would interview him for a documentary film he was working on about Paul Nagel, author and historian who lives in Minneapolis and is a good friend of Lehrer's.
Rich was going to be out of town during Mr. Lehrer's visit and he wanted him to talk about Paul for the film. I readily accepted and was thrilled to have the opportunity.
I met Mr. Lehrer at his hotel and he generously gave me a half-hour of his very busy day. After his comments about Paul Nagel, he agreed to talk about other subjects, including his thoughts about the news business today, what it's like to moderate presidential debates, and his love for buses, such as Trailways and Greyhound.
This is the second of two videos I originally posted on MinnPost.com. In this video Mr. Lehrer talks about what it's like to moderate presidential debates. He also speaks about his love for buses.
