Beacons of Hope are neighborhood drop in centers that formed in people's homes and other community spaces to support neighbors helping neighbors in the recovery of their homes and neighborhoods. Beacons are now in twelve New Orleans neighborhoods, and the Beacon model is being emulated in post-disaster Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Houston, Texas.
