I competed my second karate tournament on November 15, 2008 at the Family Karate Center's Inter-Club Tournament. I did Heian Shodan for the second time in competition only this time I did MUCH better. I was a little nervous because for a couple days leading up to it I was focusing so hard on stances that I was doing hammer fists instead of down blocks. On the day of competition though, I feel I did it the best I ever have. I won a gold medal in kata so I felt a great sense of accomplishment. I also did kumite (sparring) for the first time and took a bronze medal against a brown belt. It was a close match and at the end of time we were tied so we went into sudden victory overtime. It was a great day and lots of fun competing with my friends. Enjoy my video and check out the first one I did in July so see my improvement.
