When David heard that Absalom was slain (Thomas Tomkins)
Motet by late renaissance English composer Thomas Tomkins about the sorrow of King David on the death of his son Absalom, as related in the 2nd book of Samuel Chapter 18.
The images show Absalom caught by his hair in the tree, with his enemies bearing down upon him, David singing to his lyre and the tomb believed to be that of Absalom.
The music is performed by the dwsChorale (David Solomons multitracking)
