This is the first cut of "Speed of Fencing" with music by Mike Sal. The final cut (somewhat different from this version) is premiering at City Visions on June 4th. Here is a brief description of the film:

Behind the bullet, the tip of a fencing blade is the second fastest-moving object in Olympic sports. Speed of Fencing captures the grace and movements of New York’s top epee fencers. In epee, the play between defending and attacking the whole body as the target creates an intricate game of space and distance. Using high-speed photography, spectators will be able to see some of the fastest actions in all of sport for the first time.

I know that fencing is supposed to be a mental game with as much depth as chess, but I still don't get it. Cool video though.

When they say mental, they mean intellect. You have to be quick in mind so you can adapt your fencing strategy in a matter of seconds in order to score a point or defend. Your mind needs to go very fast and your body even faster so it can respond to the mind's commands in a bout. Hope that wasn't too technical. :)

Truly amazing! I've never seen a fencing video like this before! It captures the feeling I get from a good, hard fencing bout! Thank you for making this film!-Michael Goins, Alliance Fencing Academy, Houston, TX.

Dear Holly, thanks a lot for that video. I am currently creating a dance performance based on Slow Motion in sports. It's so beautiful seeing this movements slowed down. Have you got the final version of the video? Would love to see more.

Yes, there is a final version. I am sending it to film festivals so I can't post it online just yet. It's pretty similar but I figured I've leave the long one online so people can check it out.
@Ben Long - the final version has a different song. :)

Awesome video. Wish I had a phantom cam when we shot Ring of Steel years ago (youtube.com/watch?v=WJvKjiqMMsI) or when I did this short a few years back (youtube.com/watch?v=QHGa6IcWqX8)
