Rode PSA 1 - No Counterweight
I was excited to receive my Rode PSA 1 Studio Arm today which I ordered from B&H Photo. It doesn't seem to work! According to all the videos I've seen of the PSA 1 in action, the arm is supposed to stay where you position it. Mine seems to want to stay fully extended all the time. Is there some button or lever I'm not seeing? The instructions are ... less then helpful.
UPDATE: Apparently the arm is only designed to work with a "counterweight" on the other end. The big problem with this is that the 3/8" adaptor that is listed on the packaging was not in the box. If it had been, and I'd attached the Snowball right away, none of this would have happened. So...I've got the Snowball hanging off the mount with velcro and it seems to work well. See a video of the setup here: vimeo.com/2311753. Rode is sending me the adaptor free of charge. Thanks!
