Ubuntu Music, "One Person, One Note"
Three musical ensembles from Southern Africa perform an ancient form of music where each person only has one note to play. These traditions are the musical embodiment of the Ubuntu philosophy which basically says that the individual is nothing without the social group. Each person performs a simple rhythm pattern on their one note which interlocks into everybody else's pattern producing a miriad of personal melodies.
Dance is used as a way to bring even more variety into the music. These traditions are the inspiration for the Vuvuzela Orchestra
