On Thursday nights at the Clear Conscience Cafe in Central Square, Cambridge, musical magic happens. On this cool, crisp November evening, Massachusetts native Francis Doughty conjured up an entire world of harmonic enchantment. Here, he plays "Mole's Moan" from his CD "Under the Sky". His fingers dance on the keyboard of his Taylor 12 twelve-string, imperceptibly touching down on quavering harmonics and rich, full, blended chords.
