I love this! I'm really getting into making timelapses.

Thanks! Yeah, they're really fun to make and have a much more pronounced aesthetic. The rhythm is extremely obvious, which makes you focus on the pictures.
  • Wonder how you did it but I'll search when I got my macbook.

Is that a bug on your window (little flat maybe) ? ;)

I used a cool app named "Gawker" (not to be confused with the blogging empire). I'll add a tag so anybody who uses the app can let everybodyknow. Here's a link:

Nice bug spotting! I looked at every single frame to see if I captured the moment that happened, but sadly I missed it.

I love the shadows who are moving. What a subliminal picture, ahah ! Nice choice of music too !

I added the music credits in the description. It's Dntel's "Fireworks" which, obviously, goes well with the Independence Day explosions. Glad you liked it!
  • Remyyy, I was gonna share this with you, but it loks like you got to it.
  • whoa...we're both here right now. sup, pike.

And I love the folks on the rooftop around 1:01 who are climbing up to get the 360 degree panorama percussive explosion experience.

at what part do you capture a firework? i think i missed it.
  • themarkpike 2 years ago
1:09-1:12 there's at least 2 good ones with lots of little blips.

however, sometimes the vimeo framerate for playback drops a few frames, and you can miss them. very peculiar.

o.k good i saw one once but thought i was seeing things. it sucks that you can only see them on random playbacks. i still havent been able to pause it on those images, i guess i should download it. :)

Very cool. Didn't you get part of the thunderstorms on the 3rd and 4th in your part of town?
  • themarkpike 2 years ago
there were a few showers, but we lucked out for the most part. only thunder i heard were from controlled explosions.

I can't get over how the clouds were going in two different directions quite a few times in this.

very strange atmospheric conditions. there was a tornado warning in effect for part of this!

The atmosphere in DC during the summer is definitely worth capturing. Very nice job!
