I wish this camera had an adjustable shutter... the fixed shutter makes the images just scream "video." Makes it feel less cinematic.

I'm sorry, but I'm constantly amazed at the nitpicking in these posts.

It seems that people think that if the 5D MkII isn't capable of producing cinema-quality video, it's worthless.

It's a $2700 still camera retrofitted for video, fer crissakes! I imagine that the war photographer, the event photographer, the local news photographer can more than make use of the camera. Those fields, it will revolutionize. And I imagine that some intrepid souls with some patience and cleverness will create some truly high-quality stuff with the 5D.

Y'all can save up for a Red Scarlet FF, and shoot all the "cinema-quality" video you want. More power to you. It will be out in -- what? --a year? Year and a half? Good times. You can hang out on the Red forums and make fun of the 5D. And the 5D users will continue to not give a damn.

Or perhaps y'all are Nikon people. In which case, your next FF will probably be a step ahead of the 5D. And we'll be jealous until the Mk III comes out. It's a never-ending cycle.

Image and color like EX1, fantastic, but really bad rolling up effect and also you can't use the HDMI out for monitoring what you are recording.

the video quality is very good but the usage is not as natural as a HD cam. also need external microphone for good quality live sound recording. so, I think 5DII's video function is not good for average home user. perhaps wait for 5DIII!
