Einzeln ansteuerbare, auf einer rotierenden Fahrradfelge angebrachte Leuchtmittel er-
zeugen eine kreisförmige Lichtzeichnung. Die vier ebenfalls rotierenden Programmschei-
ben, die die Leuchtmittel steuern, sind mit geätzten Zeichnungen versehen, die elek-
trisch leitfähig sind. Für jede Lichtquelle gibt es einen Schleifkontakt; befindet sich
dieser auf Kupfer, ist der Stromkreis geschlossen und das jeweilige Licht auf dem Rotor
leuchtet. Dreht sich die Programmscheibe weiter, und berührt der Schleifkontakt dabei
einen geätzten Teil, ist der Stromkreis unterbrochen und das Licht erlischt. So bestim-
men die Zeichnungen auf den Scheiben die Programmierung der unterschiedlichen
Leuchten auf dem Rotor.
Singly selectable light elements attached to a bicycle rim produce a circular light draw-
ing. On the program discs controlling the lights there are etched drawings which are
electrically conductive. For each light source a sliding contact exists; if the contact is on
copper, the electrical circuit is closed and the respective light on the rotor is switched
on. As the program discs rotate further, and the sliding contact touches an etched part
of the disc, the electrical circuit is interrupted and the light goes out. In this way, the
etched drawings on the discs determine the programming for the varied lights on the
rotor.
