The atmosphere in Ottawa on this occasion was really intimate. I suppose it was partly so because the relatively small community of South Asians know each other well. The qawwals were connecting with the audience who were obviously responding to their poetry and singing.

As the evening progressed, the tempo increased, and the qawwals and the audience were both feeding off each other. As in 2007 they managed again to create a special magic that evening in April 2008.
