Stormsurf.com was created by Mark Sponsler, a self-taught surf meteorologist and a big wave surfer. Since he was 7 years old, living in South Florida, he personally experienced the destructive forces of multiple hurricanes as each eye passed directly overhead. This elemental contact with nature's most powerful weather system set the stage for a lifelong quest to gain greater insight into a storm's impact.
