Guest David Down: latest ostracon find in Israel
1 year ago
InFocus' resident archaeologist David Down chats to David Gibbons about a 3000 year old piece of pottery, containing Canaanite text, which has been discovered by Hebrew University archaeologists in an ancient city near where David killed Goliath.
The inscription was clearly written by a trained scribe and appears to be part of a letter containing the words "judge", "slave" and "king".
96 percent of the site has yet to be excavated, promising many more incredible discoveries.
