On April 26th, 2011 the ODE Economics Honor Society, The Georgetown University Department of Economics, The Mortara Center for International Studies, The Center for Social Justice, The Georgetown Public Policy Institute, The Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, and the GU Lecture Fund welcomed Dr. Esther Duflo for a lecture on her new book Poor Economics: A Radical Rethinking of the Way to Fight Global Poverty. Dr. Duflo, Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Alleviation in the Department of Economics at Massachussets Institute of Technology, presented her research based on randomized trials to reveal the multi-faceted and complex economic lives of the poor.
