The grassroots mapping method, developed by Jeff Warren at MIT, is a brilliant little home brew solution to aerial photography. This particular PlayPhilly project was tested as a tool that can be used by the public as a playful act to stimulate social dialogue. By shooting the plazas from above, we can observe the movement and capacity of each space, and determine problem areas.
