Daniel tells the story of what happened the first night I tried to block Mathilda (we call her Tilda for short) in the kitchen so I could get some sleep rather than keep getting up to see why she was getting up.

Now, a month or more later, Tilda sleeps with Daniel or me. We've learned that she certainly has a persistent way of making sure she is near someone almost all the time there is someone at home. When the house is empty, Tilda follows our other dog's lead and sleeps while she waits for someone to come home again.
