64 Days - Part 3 - Extended Edit
If you're new to the project, you can catch up here hi.projectpedal.com
I guess I should start this post off by answering two questions: 1) "Why did we re-release Episode 8?" And 2) "Do I really have to re-watch this?"
First; Episode 8 was extremely exhausting for Amanda and I to write, record and edit. And by the time we were 2/3rds of the way finished cutting it together, we stepped back and said, "ehh, this is getting long, I think it's good enough the way it is now". And we chopped off the whole ending we had written. What bugged us about doing that after the fact, was that the ending is what tied the whole episode back into the rest of the 64 Days series sixtyfourdays.com
And second; If you're pressed for time, then my honest answer would be, "No.", you don't have to watch the *whole* thing. But if you wanted to see the major change, then you could skip to the last 3 minutes. As for the rest, there are only minor changes... many things taken out, several small things added in.
I believe Amanda and I said this before, when we first posted Episode 8, that we would never be 100% happy with this episode. That there was just too many things that could never be squeezed in - but I think we both try to remind ourselves that 8 was one of our most successful episodes. Not in number of views, but definitely in comments and reaction. People really opened up after watching it, and no matter how many little things we know we had to leave out, I think we still managed to make something people can relate to.
Okay, enough stalling. I hope you like the extended cut of this episode. As always we'd love to hear your comments and questions - but also, if you have a twitter account, we'd really be flattered if you send out a quick twitter about it. Thanks!

the final shot on the bus is beautiful.
And the last shot is all Zadi :)
You guys rock btw.
the awkwardness is why i can't watch the last shot. but also, why we did it. that's how we meant it. i just hate watching it. i also wish we had used a tighter shot.
this just goes to show, that i never will be %100 satisfied with this video. :P
Yea, we're both always changing and building on things right up to the last minute. The episode doesn't go up until we're both happy with it :)
this was painful. and that's the reason it took us 7 months to follow-up. we needed some time off after this one. so emotionally draining.
the whole process is collaborative. we mapped out the episodes together. we both decided what they would talk about, how they would flow, and which shots to use. mike writes (types on an old typewriter) most of the narration then i come in an make changes and re-arrange things. or if he is having trouble, i write. we both wrote part 4. and i wrote the end of this episode. although mike does the actual editing, i'm there, pretty much, the entire time. and we do it together. we both pic music, clips, and everything else. and we pretty much have to agree on everything. he's right, it doesn't go up until we are both happy.
And yea, I fixed some of the audio that bugged me so much :P
Thanks for the comment and the support :)
I've watched this episode with my girlfriend about 4 times now. It's spectacular.

Four times!? That... is very flattering. Thank you. That makes me very happy.
I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of your episodes!!
And here's a little something that I just read the other day... it's from a bio on Winston Churchill... very inspirational chap I must say... in fact, so inspirational that I started doing something I've never done in my life... I wrote down a bunch of his quotes... a bit over the top I know, but I think it's been worth my time. Here's one that I think kinda fits your journey:
After his first victory when running for Parliament... "I had what seemed a triumphal progress through the country... and quite a lot of victories followed in my train. I was 26. Was it wonderful that I should have thought I had arrived? But luckily life is not so easy as all that: otherwise we should get to the end too quickly"
It has been a great learning experience though...
I love this quote. I'm gonna have to write this down somewhere where I won't loose it. I think it's very fitting :) Thanks again John!
