BAYSIDE CITY COUNCIL INDIGENOUS SCULPTURE PROJECT was a part of Council's commitment to the recognition of Indigenous people. Three sculptures positioned along the Bayside costal area were created by indigenous artists Ellen Jose and Glenn Romanis. The sculptures were inspired by stories of Boon Wurrung Elder, Carolyn Briggs.
This video is a 2 minute sampler of a 35min documentary available on DVD. It tells the story behind the project and documents the official launch of the three works of art along the picturesque bayside setting of Melbourne.
The documentary was officially launched at Tjanabi, Federation Square Melbourne in November 2008. A 23 minute version was compiled for Plug In TV and screened on C31, Melbourne's community TV station, in April 2009. It is now available for viewing in it entirety here on our Vimeo page: vimeo.com/3998394
