Parker Bennett Curry Elementary is an inner city school in Bowling Green Kentucky where 52 percent of students speak English as a second language and 96 percent qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The Bowling Green Noon Rotary Club is giving the students in Robert Lightning’s fifth grade class full-tuition and books scholarships to attend Western Kentucky University or Bowling Green Technical College. The only stipulation is they must graduate from a high school in Warren County.
The club created the “Giving Hope” project in the summer of 2010 for students who otherwise might not have the money to go to college. This scholarship has the potential to change their lives.
