A first year project in the MFA program in Science and Natural History Film program at Montana State U. The idea for this project came from a chapter in Aldo Leopold's, A Sand Country Almanac. It is a story of the earth told through Atom X. It is a story billions of year in the making.
This project was also my first real attempt at After Effects animation. With the exceptions of the live actors and planetary textures, most of the graphics were hand-drawn by me or taken from science notebooks leftover from my undergrad. I scanned each graphic, live traced it in Adobe Illustrator and animated them in After Effects.
