Another test shoot. We've GOT to do something else with that skin-colored back wall. DARKER PLEASE!
Perhaps commando cloth or even velour curtainage.
I LOVE the shoulder-mounted camera up front. This gets you UP CLOSE and PERSONAL with the music.
A wooden picnic table doth not a camera platform make.
Logan, you made some good decisions, pulling out during slower sections of music, etc. Good call on the two shots and three shots. I wouldn't go any wider than that. Let the static camera handle wide stuff.
If I'm between shots, and you are between shots, I MUST fall back to the static wide camera. If I fall back from a wide shot, it looks weird. I have to fall back to it from a portrait or two shot in order to look like a natural cut.
Hot Tungsten lights = a lot of sweat onstage. I'll be looking at some MUCH cooler, yet MUCH more expensive flourescent studio lights. lowel.com/fluotec/
adorama.com/LLFLS250CYND.html?searchinfo=FLS-250CYND&item_no=1 A couple of these would create a nice soft wash along the length of the stage.
Flourescent light = less energy consumption + longer bulb life + MUCH LESS HEAT OUTPUT!
Rush job on the audio. I'll be spending more time this weekend finessing it.
Thanks everyone for all their help!

11 months agoHey charlie what about droping a black cloth behind the back stage and then getting 2-3 blue can lights shooting up from the bottom? -

10 months ago Hey Jeremy, we are completely redoing the stage with two 24'x10' muslins to serve as curtains, a valance, and possibly some 10'x10' as legs. I'd LOVE to get some striplights along the bottom of the stage but I can't do that yet for 1. liquorslinging reasons and 2. stage monitors would need to move up to the ceiling first.
