At dusk, each evening over the summer period, thousands of Short-Tailed Shearwaters fly in from a day's fishing to nest on Griffiths Island, at the mouth of the Moyne River, Port Fairy. It is a spectacular sight and one well worth staying up late for; one person who does so often is Marty Gent, who works with the Department of Sustainability and Environment as a Coast Action/Coastcare facilitator for the far south west of Victoria.
