If you're looking for a good reflection song I don't think you can beat They Reminisce Over You by Pete Rock and CL Smooth, probably the only song suitable for warming up hip hop shows and funerals...not a bad Nas song though. Everyone shits on Nas post Illmatic, It Was Written was just as solid.

not saying nas hasn't put out quality shit since illmatic (although i must say the rest of his stuff in the 90's was subpar). but i think it's hard to argue that illmatic wasn't the pinnacle of the emcee that is known as nasir jones. with the rhymes, the beats, whateva whateva.
