Zebra Finches are probably the most abundant bird in the outback. Almost everywhere you go, you'll hear their familiar nasal calls. It's a sound also heared in just about every pet shop as well. They are a hardy species, and prolific breeders. Last year was close to our wettest ever in the red centre, and our native and introduced grasses have been growing out of control. More seed for the finches, and other seed eating birds. A good year for all.
