Constantly moving and often mesmerising it displays a world to which we are but an absent viewer. The camera is one way. The gaze is powerful. Wholly a time based medium, before our eyes lies a fluid progression devoid of any linear space.//
This piece is the exploration of multiple realities presented in solidarity. It is the existence of a collective of one’s presence. The realities respond to each other, yet they only respond to the realities recorded before theirs, we are not foreseers. Reality and the representation of reality pose the question of truth.//
This is not a questioning the truth of the event, which could only be hindered by the awareness of the lens, but the truth of the media body in relation to the body. Is either less real than the other? Or once the lens records its footage does the recording lose all it essence of being real? Perceiving an image as being real when in fact it is but a digital code can confuse. It is necessary to be aware of the true and the untrue.//
With each new layer the preceding reality becomes faint, just like layers of paint hiding the layers beneath it. Reality is temporary. Reality is now.
