Delores Hale was the Red Cross shelter supervisor in Tunica, Missisippi, where about 25 evacuees from the "Cutoff" were taking refuge from floodwaters. Dozen of other refugees who were staying in campers and RV's nearby visited the shelter for meals. Hale became a Red Cross volunteer after surviving cancer.
