Fantastic !!! Did you actually painted something or just played with it ? (hidden question being : Can we see it ?)
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 1 year ago
I started out painting but I noticed a drip and I just started shooting it. I'm easily distracted. It turned out to be just a huge pile of paint and some of it is on my camera and tripod.
  • MariaNYC plus 11 months ago
well I'm glad you are easily distracted if this is the result! heheheh very nice Charlie.
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
    Thank you Maria

i think i've said this before, but you make videos that look good enough to eat. so so yummy! i love when the paint drips back into itself.
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 1 year ago
Haha Thanks, Michelle! It's non-toxic paint so it is edible but it is kinda salty and bland. :)
  • SteveR plus 11 months ago
You didn't actually need to try it.
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
It was purely accidental. I even spilled some on the table, my clothes and the cat.

Really cool Charlie! Just wondering, did you try running any of the footage backwards to see what it looked like?
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
Thanks Matt. My first thought was to flip it but it didn't look right. I also tried to speed it up but the table was shaking slightly and it was more obvious at a higher speed. It did look good in reverse but I ended up doing it this way.

Lovely - mesmerising. It's like a lava lamp, but more visually pleasing with the different colours.
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
I spent an hour shooting it because the swirling looked very peaceful. I got a little carried away. The clean up is still going on.

Just beautiful, how did you tape this?
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
Thank you , Daniela. I placed a small canvas at a slight angle above a white poster board. Then I shot it with a macro lens while adding more paint as it was dripping.
  • Daniela Reinat 11 months ago
beautiful and inspiring Charlie ! Congratulations !
  • Charlie McCarthy plus 11 months ago
    Thanks again Daniela!

This vid was awesome. I loved the color combos with it. The beauty in it is that you captured something that can be imitated but never duplicated. cant wait to see what other surprises you reveal.

    GOD CAN

When I was more into painting. I would often get so distracted doing this very thing. Too bad I didn't have my camera back then!
