Exhibiting artist Guy Tillim and Krista Thompson, PhD, discuss Tillim's work and the clash of ideas and cultures found in the landscape of former colonial states in Africa.
Johannesburg-born Tillim has worked as a freelance photographer in South Africa and has exhibited extensively around the globe. Thompson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History at Northwestern University whose work focuses on African and Caribbean Art, the arts of the African Diaspora, critical race theory, visual cultures of colonialism and postcolonialism, and global histories of photography.
