Jim Murray, an Industry expert and leading authority on fire and smoke dampers presents and responds to questions covering such issues as the need for proper fixing of dampers to prevent them falling out during fire, the lack of in situ testing due to minimal use of motorised dampers and the need to design systems with routine testing and maintenance in mind.
It also introduces the recently revised DW145 Guide to best practice for fire and smoke damper installation published by the HVCA, which aims to alert all members of the supply chain to their individual responsibilities, the potential dangers of poorly selected and installed dampers and the rigorous technical standards that must be applied to miniimise the threat of fire and smoke spreading through poorly protected ventilation ductwork
This event was chaired by Kevin White, Managing Director of Senior Hargreaves - Ductwork Manufacturer and Contractor and supported by Ruskin AIr Management and the CIBSE ASHRAE Group.
