ABU DHABI 2011 - time lapse film (shorter version)
The definitive version of 'Abu Dhabi - 2011' time lapse film.
It features the phenomenal original score by Vladimir Persan.
Do yourself a favour and watch this film with high quality speakers because the music Vlad composed truly deserves to be heard in all of its glory.
Hook your computer to multi-media speakers, home stereo, TV or headphones but DO NOT, for the sake of all that is holy, listen to the sound on the laptop's crappy built-in speaker or just as unforgivably; muted!!
I’d like to thank Timesand Studios for their support on this project. I absolutely must thank Vladimir Persan for his help and the time and efforts he invested into creating the amazing original score. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the obliging staff of Arabian Construction Company and Arabtec - their project managers were utterly helpful and understanding - and all the safety staff that catered to my every need throughout the shoot. Lastly, I want to extend my super-special thanks to Mr. Ousama Ghannoum, Marketing and Media Director of Aldar. Without his help, this film would’ve never seen the light.
There was quite a media frenzy about this film; below are some of the newspapers, magazines and even TV networks that interviewed me:

Beno
well done
Great job! Keep it up :)
Beno
Man I even blatantly copied your text about the sound because sound really IS important!
You have put together a beautiful time lapse of beautiful city. I love the sequence from 00:44 - 00:47 and the cranes from 00:52 -00:56 and the incoming planes 01:08 - 01:11 and the great colours 02:16 - 02:21 + + +.
The music is also great :-)
The only thing i can put my finger on is that the sequences are to short, which is quite normal, but I would like fewer but longer sequences :-)
Keep up the good work.
My next film however will have a completely different pace and structure. Stay tuned!
cheers
Well done, great job!

Cudnt help myself...had to say it thrice .... :)
ps: Also with AF on or off when shooting?
You'll need a cheap intervalometer such as Satechi (amazon) hooked up into your shutter release port.
Intervals - I'm using anything between 2 to 30 seconds, depending on how 'fast' the scene is. Cars, people are considered 'fast' and in these scenes, 2 to 10 seconds interval is ok. For 'slow' scenes such as clouds, shadows, I'd go for longer intervals from 10s to 30s.
Exposure time should be determined by camera's meter but make sure that ALL camera's settings are fixed on Manual. Shutter, Aperture, ISO, Focus - ALL MANUAL!! good luck!
