Hainan 2007 summer workshop micro-documentary
In the summer of 2007, seven Columbia architecture students and one intrepid professor ventured to the untouristed northern shores of Hainan, to conceptualize a new genre of development for China: the retirement resort. This film documents the team's four weeks navigating the challenges of academic partnerships with developers, the balance of recreation with production time, and the politics and lifestyle of their host city, Lingao.
