I made this video with my daughter Miura for the Coldplay video contest. We borrowed a Sony HDV 1080i Handycam and shot it using a cinema digital effect.

The idea was all Miura's. She put together a very detailed story board for the shoot and made all the props. We edited it using FinalCut Pro on my Mac. Once I showed her some editing details she took over and did most of the editing herself, her first time on FinalCut.

All the outdoor scenes were shot in Nichol's Arboretum, The Arb, in Ann Arbor Michigan over Thanksgiving weekend 2008. The indoor shots were in our house nearby. We walked to the Arb with our gear. It was very cold and my hands were freezing most of the time.

But the camera batteries lasted and we got everything we needed over three days.

I showed Miura how to make her sister disappear and make her thought show up in a thought bubble. That was fun!
