a mashup of youtube-sourced videos demonstrating the 70s-era disco dance, the bump, and its contemporary bizarro cousin, el choque, a product of colombia's reggaeton scene (most likely drawing more directly from perreo and daggering but managing to look a LOT like the bump)
here, the two dances alternate to draw out the comparison and highlight some contrasts: choque's four-bashes-per-bar makes the every-other-beat collisions of the bump look pretty nonchalant, though the dancers clearly like to play it that way too
son de ak's "choque" -- probably the most famous choque anthem -- serves as soundtrack, but i've sped it up a little so the disco dancers don't look too sluggish (if also making the choqueando look even more manic)
although it should go without saying, this is a tribute to all bumping couples, and presidents, for all time
