The Law Symposium was part of Inaugural Week Ceremonies for the Convocation of Brendan J. Dugan '68, the 18th President of St. Francis College (stfranciscollege.edu) on October 2, 2008.
Roy Reardon, ’51, J.D., Partner, Simpson Thacher, who among his other accomplishments represented disabled golfer Casey Martin before the Supreme Court in Martin’s successful bid to ride a golf cart while competing in PGA events and Thomas Killeen, ’69, J.D., Partner, Farrell Fritz who is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and whose pro bono activities include working for the Catholic Charities Volunteer Lawyer Initiative and serving on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation discussed many of the ethical questions that face lawyers, including conflicts of interests, their relationships with clients and the obligation to give back to the community.
