In these tough economic times, who can afford to send Christmas cards to family and friends? In lieu of the standard card/photo combo, we decided to send this video to those nearest and dearest to our hearts..... plus the internet. :) We hope you enjoy, and here's wishing you an old fashioned Christmas.

Your lip dub are also amazing. Your Lollipop one has always got me thinking about getting all my extended family involved in a bigger family lip dub. Also I really like your quiet emotional ones. Very cool.

Wonderful! We did something similar last year (it just wasn't THAT GOOD..) and gave it to our grandparents in one of these video frames - or how do you call it in English?! - because they do not have internet access. You should consider this!
  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
Yes, yours was very cute and what a great idea. Thanks!

Merry Xmas to you and your family
  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
Thanks Brian. After watching your snow video I love Arizona even more. I did however live in the maritimes as I served my 2 year mission. I even spent the winter in Newfoundland. Now that was cold. I like your timelapses and will need to spend some more time checking out your videos. Good stuff there.

i hate the commercialism and artificialiality humbug of xmas wih a passion but i love this - its brilliant and you should get it sponsored by some deptment store or company - even hall mark - keep dreaming
  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
Yeah ok. This video is available for sponsorship. Please send your Christmas checks to ... :0

If only I can figure out a way to make a living making films on Vimeo. Now that is a dream.
  • geo geller 3 years ago
well as a doc filmmaker i thinking making a living making films is long shot - but i think you might have something with ths one xmas piece - if you can find some national corp to jump into it - with a little product placement too - but in general as i tell most people being a doc filmmaker and even a filmmaker is having a death wish - there is no reality - you spend years working on something and there are so many filmmakers out there that they don't have to pay you fair price - but your film ha some interesting compelling aspects especially for families - so my advice is keep the dream alive and keep an eye on the money but don't do it for the money otherwise you run the risk of being mediocre and not media-ah-so - i would also put it up on all sorts of sites - youtube, blip etc and see what word of mouth - anyway gotta go to sleep but keep dreaming who knows you might make a good mistake
    be well

    geo

Oh, Jared, I think you've definitely got a future here! (Target's ad folks would love to have the credit for something like this...hmm...sponsors??? They'd probably grab it right up. Hey, hit 'em up fast--only XX days until Christmas! Ha-haha. THINK of the IRONY of it...)

  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
This seems to be what all the women are saying as my wife posted this video on her blog, "I wish my husband would do that, but I know he never will."

I am so sorry to all the men out there getting mean looks from their wife. Who knows a few guys out there may surprise her when he agrees and makes their superstar lip dub. If nothing else she will love you even more. You better get busy Clan. :)

    Snow angles on hardwood! Fantastic.
Definitely my favorite version of White Christmas.
    The title wipes are shizzam!
  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
Yeah I hate title wipes but so fitting for the times. My wife and I spent a good while on those silly titles.

Speaking of snow angles... Kids can be so creative and they just started doing that on their own. I had to capture it and add it to the film. It took forever to clean up that snow mess but totally worth it.

Congratulation. really heartwarming and cute. What did you do in color correction? You certainly desaturated it, but the red is still so bright? is there some kind of bleach bypass simulation on it? Merry Christmas from Germany to you and your family.
  • Jared Foster plus 3 years ago
    Thank you for your comments.

The original is very very yellow. I did not do a proper white balance. I used only three filters. I tried the bleach bypass, and three strip but nothing worked. These are the three I used.

WOW...really enjoyed that! How did you compress this? I can't seem to get away from slight "strobing" when I compress my 720p to m4v (h.264). Yours looked clear and smooth.

Beautiful! Just finished reading personal stories about joblessness in the recession on the Huffington Post, which were just heartbreaking; this was just what I needed to see.

Remember this Holiday season, a lot of people are struggling; don't hesitate to donate to your local food pantry, homeless shelter and toys for tots.

Thanks again for a beautiful Christmas video!
