Salem Sound is a magnificent natural resource of open ocean, beaches, marshes, rivers, streams…and, perhaps not obviously, the land that sheds its water into it. Located on the rocky coastline north of Boston, there is much to treasure in the Salem Sound and its watershed.

We are Salem Sound Coastwatch, a nonprofit organization that exists to protect our watershed and coastline. Started over 20 years ago as a grass-roots partnership between local citizens and business leaders concerned about the environmental health of the Sound, we have been watching, monitoring, understanding connections over time. As a watershed organization, it is Salem Sound Coastwatch’s mission to educate the Public that what happens on the land affects the water, too.

We help make the connections between human practices and environmental impact, and help us all make informed choices. With beautiful footage, this video highlights the connections between people and the natural environment which affects us profoundly.
