50. The Bearer
The Bearer is a picture of choices, an interpretation of the fine line faith can draw between truth and legend.

The film explores the parallels of the two principle characters, a young boy and a local Priest as they expose the weakness of their creed.

Banishing authority, the film illustrates life at a critical point, where the next steps forward must be taken without counsel.

Yeah, because I guess the plot leave us thinking about these things.

I agree with was said below, about people having understand jesus ideas or not, their interpretation of what he said and did. I feel there's a lot of things in the church, as an institution that would make jesus full of shame and sad to see happening. Their values, they greed for wealth, authority, richness, the way they make people feel guilty, feel bad. For a man that used to walk in bare foot, healing people everywhere he gone, and telling them to remember how to love the mankind, the brothers... It's a real shame what they've done and still do using his name.
I don't have a religion, but sure jesus was a incredible guy, with a very rare amount of generosity in his heart/mind.

I have similar views, as an atheist myself I all to often see the hypocracy of the ritual of church.

Going once a week to a hall of stone, filled with opulence and artefacts worth enough to feed, cloth and educate the people in need that are ignored on the journey to become more godlike.

Whilst there is no doubt, many religious and religions advocate help and generosity to those in need, the very foundations of Catholicism (in some respect) seem to ignore this ideology.

Thanks, I didn't want to jump into that for fear of being scorched a little. It's our film shot on a 7D, and I was blown away.

This film perfectly illustrates the church's ignorance of the teachings of Jesus.

A nice point, but who - if not the church, is to be held accountable for the truest interpretation of Jesus?

We must take the power of the gospels to ourselves. Jesus did not teach in order that it should interpreted only by holders of theology degrees. We must read, discuss, debate, argue about what that man said. Our souls depend on it. Jesus spoke directly to the common people. We need no priests. He had a message and it was a great message.
