This video was shot in the waters south of San Diego off the coast of Mexico on the Coronados Islands.

The Purple Hydrocoral is not easily found or seen in shallow depths and without the help of several friends and the use of scooters we would never have made it there and back.

Many special thanks to Jim, Kathy, and Bob.

Wow, I'm amazed at the clarity of the water, and how still you keep the camera! Great video! Thanks!
  • The first time I ever got to ask Howard Hall a question, I asked him what was the one key to his success. I don't remember his exact words but I know that his mantra includes "Rock Steady!".

Thanks Howard and Michelle Hall! And Thanks Mary Lynn Price for bringing me along and introducing me.

Cool stuff! Haven't seen hydrocoral in years - last attempt at Farnsworth was thwarted by weather. Guess you gotta know the right peeps to find if off Coranados!

Very beautiful, I guess I won't see any purple hydro coral by going to the Lobster Shack for my dive.
    ;-)
