1st presentation of eCaro - electro+acoustic research objects -, an improvisation for expanded piano, using both acoustic and electroacoustic resources, by myself and Paulo Maria Rodrigues.
We used a Continuum Fingerboard, an iPhone, a Moogerfooger MF-101, six EBows, some coil pickups and contact microphones, a mbira and several homemade mallets. By using contact loudspeakers on top of the soundboard, all of the sounds have the same origin and 'sonic print'. It also enables the use of string resonance as a reverb for the electronic sounds.
Presented at Performa'11 - performa.web.ua.pt/ -, it is a condensed 20-minute version. We can only improve from here! ;)
